March 15th, 2025, stands as a significant milestone, marking ten years since the UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital unveiled its state-of-the-art facility on College Station Rd. Since UGA CVM produced its inaugural class in 1950, we have witnessed the evolution of several teaching hospitals, each of which we outgrew as the College, University, city of Athens, and the field of veterinary medicine charged forward, ever-changing.

The opening of the teaching hospital marked a new era in our College’s history, bringing with it new opportunities that set the stage for the following decade of cutting-edge patient care, hands-on education, and groundbreaking research.
